Welcome...Heating, Cooling & Comfort - Choose a Product

AS I AM -- NOT -- A BOARD MEMBER -

All i can do is tell you that in the past .... it was a well known fact that....if you planned to renovate...

Any alterations to your condo you had to tell the board.

If you had done any upgrades to your unit and there happened to be lets say --- water or mold --- damage --- the board would only restore your unit to 1975 standards.

Ie if you had hardwood installed and there was a roof leak then the corporation would only replace with lino or basic carpet...etc

Insurance coverage could also be affected depending on the circumstances.

Most condo boards in Canada maintain control --- not to dictate your changes but to ensure that alterations will be in line with the corporation’s vision and to ensure structural integrity of the building.
